I formatted my 1 tera byte hard drive now only 489 gb are avaiable! How do I fix!??!?

Your motherboard may only recognize 500gb. If this is a windows computer you just need to go into admionistrative and then go to computrer management and either setup an extended partition or make another partition with the remaining space.
If you are doing this from a new install and want a 1tb partition then you will need to get ahold of a program called n-lite and take your windows disc and slipstream service pack 3 on it along with the SATA drivers for your motherboard and then burn it to a disc and install from that and you should see around 950gb or so.I formatted my 1 tera byte hard drive now only 489 gb are avaiable!
